PSP Brother Made His “Mark” at Summer Internship

This summer I had the incredible opportunity to be a corporate communications intern at Midmark, a clinical design company in Versailles, Ohio. Midmark specializes in designing and making clinical technology in three divisions: medical, dental and animal health. Being from a small town, it is very hard to find larger companies around the area where I live – let alone those that have communication departments – but I luckily received an offer from an acclaimed company such as Midmark and the experience did not disappoint.

My main task this summer was to help with a company rebrand, replacing one that had been in place since 2002. The company rebrand incorporated an entirely new way of working. Midmark changed not only its famous logo and tagline, but also its writing, photography and video style. As an international company with locations across the U.S. and the globe, this rebrand was no easy task. With lots of work and preparation, I worked with the rest of the corporate communications department to complete the project before the momentous reveal on Aug. 21.

One of my most challenging tasks required me to schedule, produce and direct a video to be played at the rebrand reveal event. It was also my responsibility to create a new e-commerce website for the newly branded apparel to accompany this new brand; the website is known as The Midmark Store. My coworker and I created a new ‘store’ to house this new clothing line as well. Below are transformation pictures, which show our project’s development within a month’s time. Miscellaneous tasks included scheduling and running photo shoots, helping with our quarterly newsletter and creating other small, internal videos for the company as well. You can check out all of the work that I did this summer at the end of this post!

Not only will this experience be useful in my future career in the Communications field, but I have also met an incredible group of people that I can network with in the future! All in all, I have learned more from this internship than I have in any college course and I highly recommend applying to an internship if you have the opportunity. If you are interested in applying to Midmark (and be close to me J), feel free to visit their new website at www.midmark.com!
